Abstract: The test facility SANA was installed at the Research Centre Jülich to research on the heat transport mechanisms inside the core of a high temperature gas cooled reactor (HTGR). The test facility consists ofa heated pebble bed inside a furnace to simulate the thermal conditions of such a HTGR core. The experiment demonstrates the possibility to design a non-melting HTGR, even in case of a failure of all heatsinks. From 1994 to 1996 over 50 steady state tests were carried out. In these experiments all the main parameters of a pebble bed are variated, as pebble material, pebble diameter, gas, heating power and geometry. Due to the wide range ofthese variations, data base can be used for program validation as for general research on porous media. The data sets ofthese experiments are presented in this report, including all necessary data for an integral program validation.
